Spring has finally arrived and the weather is improving. It is lovely to see the children return refreshed, and without runny noses or coughing, after a good holiday and what has been one of our coldest winters in a long time. It was great to see that most of the students had their hats on – so please remind your child to bring their hat to School.
We welcome two children to the Junior School this term: Isabel Phuah, new to Prep G, and Jack Strahan, to 1H, who has returned after a year’s leave.
Work has begun on transitioning our new students to the Junior School for 2018. We look forward to welcoming our new Year 5 students tomorrow for a special orientation session. During the recent holidays, I travelled to Sri Lanka with my family. We were met at the airport by our driving travel guide, who then led us all around this most beautiful and fascinating country. We had to put ourselves very much in his hands. We had no idea where to go, which direction to take, or which activity was the best course of action to pursue. We had to trust him to know what was best for us – and he did a fabulous job!

Welcome to October, daylight saving, and Term 4. It has been wonderful to welcome everyone back from the break. We are delighted to also welcome Katrina Allegros who is filling Leesa McDonald’s role while Leesa is on Long Service Leave. We are also delighted to announce that Kai Lin has been appointed as an ongoing assistant in the Staff Childcare room for 2018. Megan Birt, who returned from family leave this year into the role of part time educator in the Bay and Staff Childcare rooms, is delighted to announce that she and James are expecting their third child in February 2018.
We are excited for them all, and will have an opportunity to celebrate before the end of the year. This term in the Music Room we also welcome Erin Hamilton, a first-year early childhood student, who is studying at Swinburne University.
